1998, February 15th to March 13th (28 days) in Provence, France. We fly Vancouver to Toronto to London to Paris To Marseilles. We pick up our rental car in Marseilles. We have an apartment outside of Arles at Fourchon and tour the area in our rented Renault. Shopping for local wine and food and cooking in for most of our dinners. We have memorable dinners while watching the bats fly out of their barn at sunset. The Fourchon complex has a lake with an island and a waterfall, golf course, horse ball (?) and riding and obstacle rings. This is in the country where equine events are held. There is also tennis courts, swimming pools, bars, restuarants (only open in summer as we are 'off-season'). We begin to feel at home here and love this part of the world. We visit Arles (including the museum of antiquity), Nimes, Marseilles, The Carmague, Port St. Louis, The Ste. Maries, Pont du Gau (bird park), Abbe de Mont Major, Pont du Gard (acquaduct), Aigues-Mortes, Aix-en-Provence (including the Art Museum), Fountain de Vacluse, Glanum, St. Remy, Les Baux, Monaco, Andora and many things not listed. We saw so much on this trip.
