I like the comp0osition of this photo. Last year (2013) I planted some of these plants into one side of the vegetable garden where the vegetables were not growing. The transplants did not do much better than the vegetables. I wonder if the tree roots are the cause of this poor preformance. I should get some waste high planter boxes built. The bottoms of the boxes can be filled with straw bales, with a plastic barrier between the straw and the soil to keep the tree roots out. There is a lot of shade so it may not be worth the time and costs.
