red currant bush.

I once made red currant jelly with these berries. It was good, but a lot of trouble for the bit of jelly. This little bush is in the front garden in the strip across in front of the rectangle beds. The purple plum tree is beside it. This bed is actually on the Saanich property. Since it is behind the cedar hedge I don't see if the birds are eating the berries. Nor do I see if people are eating the plums.
