We walked to see the Eiffel Tower, the Champs de Elysses, etc. It took us an hour to walk what may have been apx. 4 km and then more time to walk to the Arc d' Triophe. Pat finds our way back on the metro after lunch and sight seeing.
The building in Paris, Montmartre 189, seems to be one of the Haussmann apartment buildings. Of course it reminds anyone who sees it of the Flatiron Building in New York. But not as tall.
The distinctive triangular shape of the Flatiron Building, designed by Chicago architect Daniel Burnham and built in 1902, allowed it to fill the wedge-shaped property located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway.
