DAY 12 – November 2, 2005 – Melk, Austria
The Church – In the spirit of the Baroque period, what we are admiring here is a receiving room for God. The architecture of the room, the colors of the ceiling frescos, the stucco marble on the walls, and the colors of the galleries (gold, orange, ocher, gray and green) combine to create a symphony of color and form. (My photo is the view towards the high altar – to the East)
(From my notes) Melk to Vienna - Sail through Wachau Gorge - Warmer area because of the mountains - wine growers & famous brandy - 1450's the Turks occupied this area.
Many reflections pictures as it was a beautiful sunny day.
