The water meter is situated in the magnolia tree garden room. It is one of the ugliest spots in my garden.
Over the past couple of years this spot has undergone some renovations. Beneath the magnolia tree
there are Trilliums, some iberis, a cement vase with aubretia in it. From the grass path there is a short
stone path leading into the water meter. The meter maids need a 1.5 foot clear area around the meter.
Towards the Inner garden, there is the black bamboo, the david statue, some yellow/green ornamental
oregano. Along the edging of the grass path has had a renovation the Fall of 2022. I have reduced the Irish
heather to a smaller plant just above the water meter. Taken out the old ugly heather. Planted a hebe
(raspberry riple) next to the Siberian Irises on one side and the little Irish heather on the other side.
In front of these plants is an area of autumn crocuses, that grow from the little stone path over to the
David. There is an older milkweed plant, and a few others, plus room for more in this area. I think a few
foxgloves and columbines would look good here and help to hide the ugly water meter.
