Virginia creeper photo taken October 2017. Cut back to a ground level stump in 2022. It is now (August 2023) sprouting vigorously from the stump and growing up the pole and out along the ground where the St.John's Wort grows. I need to keep the ivy cut out and keep the creeper to about a 6 foot height up the pole. I will be mowing back the St. John's wort also.
