Nasturtiums

I have not had these plants in my garden for a few years. I have seeds to plant this spring. The planting instructions say they grow in dry sandy soil. Flower production suffers if fertilized or planted in rich soil. Heaven knows I have plenty of poor soil, but is clay based. They are edible so I should be able to get some plants growing in my cutting garden. The area I call the cutting garden was the vegetable patch before it became shaded by the hedging trees and full of tree roots.
