The stone path in the back garden

thestonepathinthebackgarden.jpg

I made this path in the back garden because this area of grass was a bog in the winter time. The path leads off the old sidewalk and wraps around the fig tree to the left and around the Japanese garden area to the right. It continues to the strawberry/cutting garden and into the Japanese/shade garden and around the pond. In the pictured area the fragrant tiny Corsican mint and moss grow between the stones . At the corner of the deck, a few big stones go through the primulas and the moss to the shade garden under the deck. The primulas seem to like a lot of water and they thrive at the lower side and to the right of this path. I am slowly getting the primulas, mosses and other shade plants established in this shade garden.
