Day 17, 18 - L'Orange -- March 03, 04, 2002
After seeing the Arc d’Triomphe we then found the theatre dating from the reign of Augustus. This is one of the most intact Roman ruins in Europe.
We were back by 2:00 for soup and a rest until about 4:00 when I start to prepare our dinner with the other Meehans. Pastis, wine, Toulouse sausage, salad, califlower, baked potatoes, cheese and fruit
March 04, 2002 – Cassis – no photos worth loading
Sunny warm day. We drove on a twisty, secondary road past a few old ruins. We made our way through Marseille from North to South and came out along the harbor and South Coast, with the traffic doing double parking and buses and multiple winding ways. Pat did some excellent driving. The road to Cassis was climbing up the mountains along a winding road. Cassis is a resort with new construction building more and more places for tourists. We have a walk around and head back on the toll road. Back by 3:00.
