from the original album: The lilies are deep water plants. They sit on the bottom of the pond in tubs. They get fed about every second year when I clean out the pond. I have 2 pink ones in the pond, and a lovely minature yellow in the deck tub. There is also a waterhawthorn that is a subtle blooming deep water plant. The water iris are shallow water plants or bog plants. I have the lovey purple one in the pond, the yellow water iris beside the half-barrel tub. There is also a white water iris in the half-barrel but it does not last very long and is not very impressive. More of the irises and lilies. There is also a yellow flag iris. This one is invasive and can get into the nearby Colquitz River, so I try to keep it to a minimum. It is only in the woodland garden tub now. The marsh marigold has spread out also and is a good shallow water plant. You can see that the old waterfall mountain needs more soil and a total make over.
