Page 5 From the old album:
The sound of the water, watching for the fish and other wildlife, seeing reflections in the pond are endless sources of enjoyment. The moss, creeping phlox and sedums are slowly covering the waterfall and making it look more natural. The edging plants are filling in around the 'rock necklace' also. The water garden is different each year and ever changing in the seasons.
The first row of photos on page 5 is from the old album made in about 2006. The second row is from more recent photos. The waterfall will be getting a make over, as the soil and stones seem to have diminished and alpine/rock plants no longer seem to be able to take hold. Constant damage to the pond from my Parmar neighbors does not help, either. The rocks, moss and plants seem to disappear into the pond. Even the mermaid took a dip about a year ago. I found my brass water sprinkler in the pond one year. Not to mention cigarette butts and other garbage.
The fish are from the last 2 years. I seem to have quite a few little black ones, which means that they are not over 2 years old. I have no idea how there got to be a tiny shubunkin and a tiny goldfish. I had to restock my pond in 2019, after erronously flooding the pond with chlorinated water after getting back from a trip East. I thought I had killed all the fish and even some of the plants. The plants have come back and the fish certainly have been busy to produce all those little black ones this year. (written Dec. 2020)
