March 3, 2001. Delphi - Museum and archeological site. A bit of a climb to the top. Temple of Appollo. The priestesses were religious, the priests were politicians and translated the priestesses ambiguous statements in any manner best to try and prevent wars and strife. Very good museum pieces. A champion chariotier, Hermes, Dionysus, Alexander the great's head (original), Theseus, etc. Long bus ride (4.5 hours) to a small town on a plain of Thessaly - agricultural area, after being up in the mountains. Delphi referred to as the naval of the world. We had dalmades for lunch and the restuarant across the street came to our restuarant for food. Dinner of lamb and baklava.
