DAY 13, November 3, 2005 – Vienna, Austria
My version: We go on the City tour in the morning. We drive past the main sights in the bus without stopping. It is a grey, gloomy day, so the photos are not great. I have photos of the Hofburg Palace (winter palace of the Hapsburgs), of the butterfly garden building, St. Stephens Cathedral, and few other buildings.
In the afternoon we go on the optional excursion to the Schonbrunn Palace. We are not allowed pictures inside. The palace is truly grand. The home of Maria Theresa, Franz Stefan Von Lothringin and their 16 children. I have a few pictures of the outside. The gardens are put to bed for the winter.
The Hofburg - Hofburg The Hofburg of today accommodates the offices of the Austrian President, the Ethnological Museum, Parts of the Museum of Fine Art, the Ephesus Museum, the Treasure Chamber, the Austrian National Library, The Spanish Riding School, and prestigious premises for international conferences.
