DAY 13, November 3, 2005 The Herculean figures flanking the St.Michael Portal (of the Hofburg) and the wall fountains on the façade are special eye-catchers. The wall-fountain sculptures show the allegories “Rulers of the Land” and the “Rulers of the Sea”.
St. Stephan’s Cathedral - My photos from inside the Cathedral did not turn out. It was dark and crowded inside. We spent time walking around this area which is a shopping district, in the misty, cold weather.
The Schonbrunn Palace - Summer Palace We were not allowed photos inside the building with its 1441 rooms. It also, is truly grand. There is far too much to type into this space, so a google search will certainly yield an abundance of information on the Palace and on Maria Theresa and family.
